JOB SUMMARY:

Assist the Manufacturing Engineering department in successfully achieving manufacturing goals and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. The ME Intern be encouraged to contribute ideas and suggestions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Audit and update work instructions, routings and bills of materials.
  • Improve material handling methods.
  • Perform time studies.
  • Develop methods in fabrication and machining processes.
  • Perform workstation/cell analyses to improve productivity and quality.
  • Provide technical support to the production personnel.
  • Provide input for manufacturing fixtures and tooling.
  • Assist with plant layout and workstation design.
  • Learn and use ERP manufacturing software.
  • Create documentation for new product launches.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical or other related Engineering field.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge or exposure to JD Edwards.
  • Exposure to Lean concepts.
  • Experience in welding, machining, or fabrication.
  • Experience with 2D & 3D CAD software.
  • Exposure to Lean and 5S concepts.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; Excel specifically

Find a searchable employer list with a company description and what majors the employers want to hire!  Both small and large employers attending!  You can select which event you are attending to see only the employers at that event.

  1. Why should I go?

There are so many great reasons, but ultimately, these events exist to help you make job connections and meet employers!

  • If this is your first time, we want you to get experience!  Learn what it’s like to talk with employers and talk about yourself and your accomplishments
  • The employers attending are seeking a variety of majors and degree levels and represent so many different industries and opportunities.  They want to meet you in-person!  See all attending employers and search by major and position types you are interested in on our search site!
  • If you aren’t sure how to approach an employer, the reception is a great place to learn and prepare for the fair the next day.  You can always start your career fair conversation sharing what you learned about the employer while meeting at the reception!  If you have too many companies to meet, attending both events can help give you more time to talk with all employers you are interested in!
  • More than 50 employers will stay to conduct on-campus interviews on Thursday, February 1 (if selected, the employer will contact you directly).

  • Get your resume ready!
  • Wear business professional attire, if possible. If you don’t have a business suit, don’t let that stop you!  Wear your best and get to the events!
  • Plan your trip!  Know the employers coming and plan your introduction.  Be sure to give yourself time to get to the event.

PATEL Infrastructure – Construction Inspection – Internships

We are engineering Company based in Harrisburg area. We are looking for students who is interested looking to do construction inspection on PennDOT projects.

As a company will empower students to develop crucial technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for detail necessary for successful careers in Construction/Engineering industries.

Most work in construction inspection is from May through September.  We are targeting associate degree students because they qualify for inspectors with PennDOT and can gain work experience while continuing their education during the normal school year (September through May).

You’re probably asking, how does a Virtual Career Fair work?  Similar to Zoom, students have the opportunity to have video chats with recruiters who are looking to fill 2024 internship and job openings. Instead of Zoom, the platform is called Brazen. It’s simple to use but you do need to make sure you’re prepared in advance (setup your account and upload your resume). You’ll also want to ensure you plan to be in a quiet space and dress the part with proper background and lighting and wifi connection.
