Virtual Video Chats via Brazen

For All Majors / Internship and Full-Time Positions

 

You’re probably asking, how does a Virtual Career Fair work?  Similar to Zoom, students have the opportunity to have video chats with recruiters who are looking to fill 2024 internship and job openings. Instead of Zoom, the platform is called Brazen. It’s simple to use but you do need to make sure you’re prepared in advance (setup your account and upload your resume). You’ll also want to ensure you plan to be in a quiet space and dress the part with proper background and lighting and wifi connection.

Mission

We are looking for an Electronic Component Engineer to help minimize electronic component and electronic design risk across our product portfolio. The successful candidate will work in the obsolescence management design team and will work strictly with Industrialization, engineering, Research & Development, quality, procurement, and manufacturing, providing support for new and existing Hitachi Products and system. 

Accountabilities:

-Work with engineering, quality, procurement, and manufacturing leadership to establish component engineering processes.-Implement risk management strategies to address obsolescence and proactively identify and address future obsolescence.-Review design BOMs, conduct part lifecycle analysis and collaborate with engineering & research & development to develop strategies and alternative technical solution to minimize supply chain risk.-Monitor / manage component obsolescence per internal processes utilizing IT tools (SAP/Teamcenter/ r BOM REVIEW, IHS, PDM system).-Resolve Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) and End of Life (EOL) component issues.-Develop and maintain engineering documentation and recommend test strategies for requalication;-Implement component related problem reporting and design changes working closely with hardware engineering staff.

THREE alternating rotations of 15 weeks OR

Two six-month rotations whichever is best for company & student agreement.

Required Skills/Knowledge 

Sophomore student in an electrical or electronic discipline with some electronics courses completed.Demonstrate aptitude for communication, collaboration and cooperation with a variety of stakeholders.
