Intramural and Recreational Sports Programs

The Department of Recreation at Penn State Altoona oversees all recreational and intramural offerings on campus. The Department of Recreation is eager to kick off a new year of offerings in a newly renovated Adler Athletic Complex.

Sponsored by The Apartment Store Nittany Pointe

Intramural sports and activities offer the students, faculty, and staff a great opportunity to participate in a variety of sports and activities that compete against other teams from within the University. We offer something for everyone. Whether you are competitive, or just an individual who wants to play, have fun, and meet people, there are numerous opportunities for you!

Participants can compete on an individual or team basis. One doesn’t need to be highly skilled at a sport or activity to participate. Our primary goal is for every participant to have an enjoyable experience.

League play is offered in approximately ten sports/activities each semester. They include basketball, volleyball, flag football, softball, and soccer. Additionally, one-day events such as relay races, home run derby, dodge ball, swimming, and table tennis tournaments will be held.

Teams are encouraged to organize early in the fall. Sign-up dates are posted in the Adler Complex each semester and on the Recreation website. Rosters and fees should be submitted at this time to guarantee your position in the league or tournament. If you have any questions, contact the intramural office at 814-949-5416 or visit the Recreation site.
