About

The title page of the production dramaturgy packet.

This site serves to communicate dramaturgical information to the cast,  production team, and audience members of Sam Osheroff’s upcoming 2021 production of William Shakespeare’s play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This website serves as the digital version of the dramaturgy packet document that serves as the hub for the dramaturgy work of this production.

READING THE PACKET: As a tool for those who are reading the dramaturgy packet, this free text-to-speech online reader helps with reading and absorbing things quickly! Simply download the packet as a PDF, upload it to the text-to-speech online reader, and press play!

A NOTE ON CITATIONS AND FOOTNOTES: Unfortunately, due to the capabilities of Penn State’s WordPress site-making tools, I am unable to add citations through footnotes to this website. I do apologize for the lack of academic integrity in this format of the research; please refer to the dramaturgy packet (linked above), for full in-text citations.

CONTACT: If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact production dramaturg Arushi Grover at ajg6360@psu.edu or (704) 941-7092. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Above, two images of production dramaturg Arushi Grover working on dramaturgy research at the Drama Book Shop, in New York, NY. (Fun fact! While working on section of “Literary Analysis” → “Critical Theory” → “Queer Theory”, Grover spotted Lin-Manuel Miranda in the Drama Book Shop!)
