Service to the University
Libraries Website Working Group, Penn State University Libraries, Member. (April, 2016- Present).
The Committee is working to develop policies, goals and structure for the University Libraries websites.
Web Implementation and Management Team, Penn State University Libraries, Member. (December 1, 2014 – December 1, 2016).
The Committee works to ensure a smooth transition as University Libraries moves to Drupal as a Content Management System. As the Discovery Representative, I work to collect feedback from stakeholders related to both Summon and the ability to find existing information through our web presence. I also support the other areas of focus of the committee, including Content Strategy.
LibGuides Expert Team, Penn State University Libraries, Member. (March 25, 2015 – November 2015).
Worked to create implementation policies, training, and assist in the transfer to LibGuides. Provided expert advice to users of LibGuides. Provided training to librarians at Penn State campuses during two sessions, at New Kensington and at Berks with another team member.
University Libraries Innovation Microgrant Program, Penn State University Libraries, Member. (April 2012 – April 2014).
Reviewed applications for Microgrants with the rest of the committee. Presented grants for consideration during selection meeting. Reviewed final reports of past grants.
Summon Assessment Group, Penn State University Libraries, Member. (February 2013 – July 2013).
Worked with librarians and staff throughout the University Libraries to formulate an assessment of LionSearch (Summon), a web scale discovery system.
Next Generation Public Interface Team, Penn State University Libraries, Member. (February 2008 – December 2011).
The committee was instrumental in reviewing products to supplement the catalog as a search tool, and in reviewing additions and changes to the catalog. Researched and tested changes suggested to the catalog.
Discovery System RFP Committee, Penn State University Libraries, Member. (January 2010 – July 2010).
Reviewed RFP’s for web scale discovery systems, attended demos, met with vendors in order to provide feedback on products offered to Penn State University Libraries.

These three committees have supported new and innovative ways of achieving student learning through technology.
International Committee, Chairperson. (August 2014 – August 2015), Co-Chairperson. (August 2013 – August 2014). Member. (December 2011 – May 2013).
Coordinated and recommended activities for the Country of Focus program. The committee chooses a Country of Focus each year. The Country of Focus is integrated into the curriculum and student activities for the following year. Publicized Country of Focus program and materials to faculty, students and staff. Coordinated and accompanied students on travel abroad opportunity to Ireland in 2013. Member of subcommittee which reviewed applications and suggestions for the courses for the embedded study abroad opportunities.
Green Team, Penn State New Kensington, Member. (September 2012 – Present).
The Green Team focuses on moving our campus towards a more sustainable existence.

Contribution to Programs to Enhance Equal Opportunity/Cultural Diversity
Volunteer/ LGBT resources, Penn State New Kensington, Volunteer. (September 2013 – Present).
With members of the Diversity Committee, I have staffed an information table during Common Hour, providing information about LGBT resources on campus. The Blissell Library purchases library materials including books, DVDs, magazines, and CDs as part of a LGBT collection.

Organizing Conferences and Service on Conference Committees
LOEX 2016 Conference Planning Committee, LOEX, Member. (September 29, 2014 – Present).
Member of committee charged with planning and supporting LOEX 2016 conference in Pittsburgh, PA. The committee performs tasks including logo design, keynote and pre-conference suggestions, review of proposals, conference day to day support activities, and liaising with next conference committee.

RSS Chair (July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2017). RSS Chair Elect (July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016), American Library Association, Reference and User Services Association/ Reference Services Section, Elected.
Leadership role of the largest section of RUSA, RSS. Our section focuses on Reference in all types of libraries. As Vice Chair of RUSA/ RSS, I am preparing to serve as Chair during 2016-2017.
Serve on RSS Board and RSS Executive Committee (July 1, 2015- June 30, 2018).
RUSA Publications and Communications Committee, American Library Association, Reference and User Services Association, Publications and Communications, Chairperson. (July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016). Member (July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2015).
The committee was engaged in reviewing publications across RUSA, implementing a reference blog for professionals in the field, and working on a website review. In 2015-2016, we hosted an Emerging Leader Project (Library as Publisher). As the Chair, I am in charge of liaising between the committee and the Emerging Leader team, and attending events as the project sponsor. Serve on the RUSA Budget and Finance Committee.
WPWVC ACRL Membership Committee, Western Pennsylvania West Virginia Chapter/ Association of College and Research Libraries, Member. (June 30, 2014 – June 30, 2015).
In coordination with the Membership Chair, collected and managed the membership aspects of the WPWVC/ ACRL.
RSS Review Editor, American Library Association, Reference and User Services Association, Reference Services Section, Editor. (July 1, 2011 – June 30, 2015).
Edited content for “RSS Review”, the Reference Services Section column in the online RUSA Update, published quarterly. Served as ex-officio, non-voting member of the RSS Executive Committee. Served as a member of the Organization and Planning Committee (the committee was consolidated and eliminated in 2013).
Western Pennsylvania West Virginia Chapter/ Association of College and Research Libraries, Secretary, Elected. (June 30, 2012 – June 29, 2014).
Responsible for recording Board and Chapter meeting minutes, and posting them to online chapter pages. Maintained a list of all board members. Solicited and created content for Chapter newsletter, twice per year.
WPWVC ACRL Program Committee, Western Pennsylvania West Virginia Chapter/ Association of College and Research Libraries, Program Committee, Co-Chairperson, (June 2011 – June 2012). Member, (September 2009- June 2011).
With committee co-chair, planned and organized twice yearly Chapter meetings. In 2011, we coordinated 4 local webinars for members.
