I was mostly thinking about the timeline, and what images to put. I want to go more into depth about the HIV/AIDS outbreak and how that affected sexual education. But these slides are mostly images that go along with the topic I’ll be talking about.
I like how your slides showcase the different eras and how we have progressed overtime. I think it’s fascinating how the slides seem to show more openness towards sex education, and then the last graph shows how many states are still quiet about sex education. If you want to go more in depth about HIV another slide would be beneficial, maybe one showcasing how impactful to aids epidemic was.
I like how you opted to have only pictures and titles on your slides. I think the simplicity of it will make it easier for people to follow your argument. Including a video was also a nice touch and will engage the audience. Finally, I like that you included the map at the end, because it really helps the audience to conceptualize your argument. The timeline looks good to me!
I think this is such an interesting topic, and I am so glad you decided to go with it. I think the idea of a timeline from an institutional setting is cool. The inclusion of that slide about HIV/AIDs is really powerful, but maybe you could tie that into how students in schools were educated about the emergence of HIV/AIDs just so that your information on that slide stays on track with the information from the other slides. Just something to consider.
I did a research paper about the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the US so if you want some more pics I could show you some I used, or if you need info I think I remember most of it. Your slides look really good!!
