The Final Passion Blog.

November16

We have made it this far, I hope you all have enjoyed my little pop culture posts, I really used this passion blog to voice my opinion on stupid things that y’all probably don’t care about, so thanks for sticking around…even though you technically had to lol. In honor of my last post, here is a list of my personal favorite blog posts I’ve written, it’s not a very long list:

3. Donuts and America.

This was my very first blog post. It started out as a list, but then I kinda gave up and just wrote about Ariana Grande and that whole donut incident. I think the video of the little girl is so funny and it cracks me up every time I watch it. It also lowkey set the tone for my passion blog posts, they’re very casual because I genuinely just type whatever pops into my head, so y’all are basically just reading my thoughts.

2. Travis Swift and Taylor Kelce

This is my favorite couple ever. I’m sorry, actually, I don’t apologize. I am a huge Swiftie and I support this adorable couple. I hoped their relationship wouldn’t die out after I wrote that post, so I wouldn’t seem crazy, and It hasn’t! So hopefully y’all don’t think I’m crazy. Since I released that post, so many more cute moments of them have gone viral. My current favorite is when Miss Swift changed the lyric of her song Karma during her set of the Era’s Tour in Buenos Aires. The original lyric was “Karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me,” she changed it to, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me,” Like I am in love with them, and I couldn’t be happier for my queen.

1. Cody Ko ‘Button’ Appreciation Post

Respectfully, I love, I love, I love, Cody Ko. He has been my favorite person to watch on YouTube since I was 13 years old, and my love for his content has not diminished. He and Noel are literally such a hilarious duo, although they don’t post as much together now, they still have a place in my heart. It started with the “That’s Cringe” series that I binge-watched at age 13 from like 11:00 pm to 4:00 in the morning. Yes, I have taken breaks from YouTube, as I started to shift into Sitcoms and shows that fit that genre, but every time I go onto YouTube, it is to watch a Cody Ko video. I hope my post hyped him up for y’all to give him a watch, if not that’s okay, not everyone has taste (I’m jk).

Thank you for reading my posts, even though its a grade 🙂

Cody Ko ‘Button’ Videos Appreciation Post

November2

My brain is super foggy right now and after copious amounts of research, I have come to the conclusion that I cannot find anything interesting enough to post on here. So I am going to write an appreciation post for my king, Cody Ko, and his “The Button” reaction videos.

If you are not familiar with Cody Ko, he is a YouTuber who makes commentary videos on all types of videos. He’s most known for his “That’s Cringe” videos with his best friend also YouTuber, Noel Miller. About a year ago, Ko started doing commentary reactions on “The Button” videos. “The Button” is a segment on the ‘Cut’ YouTube channel. The channel gets two random groups of men and women and sets them up on these dates. If either person does not like the date, they can press the button when it turns red, and the other person leaves, and someone new filters in. With this type of formula, the videos can get quite boring and repetitive, Cut makes it so instead of the videos becoming boring, they include rules and challenges to spice things up. Like being blindfolded on the date or having earplugs.

Recently I have been on a binge of Ko’s commentary videos on “The Button.” Personally, I enjoy these types of videos, where someone provides funny commentary on a new concept like “The Button.” His videos became so popular that ‘Cut’ allowed Ko to be the voice of the button. If that sounds confusing, let me explain further. There is a voice behind the button in the “The Button” segment. The button asks questions to get the date started or honestly drops some instigating statements about either person to make the video more entertaining. Back to Ko being the voice, it got to a point where his videos got so recognized that they invited him on the show.

His videos on “The Button” are just absolutely hilarious and actually make me laugh out loud. I’d like to say me and Cody Ko have the same humor, he is definitely 100% funnier than me, so his videos are enjoyable to watch when you’re eating or just trying to waste some time. I started watching Cody Ko around the age of 13, and after a while, I stopped watching YouTube altogether, but I still come back to watch his videos, they never fail to crack me up lol. Down below I’ll insert my favorite videos of his (happens to be him voicing the button), and y’all can give it a watch! But who’s really to say if you’re going to watch it?

Jaidyn Alexis and Blueface v. Chrisean Rock and Lil Mabu

October31

Okay, I’m going to be so real right now. I shouldn’t be invested in this, but I am. I love some good old diss track rivalry, it takes me back to the Logan vs. Jake Paul days.

Let me recap.

So Jaidyn and Blueface have been dating since high school, but if you know anything about Mr.Blueface is that he will double-dog you. He cheated on Ms. Jaidyn numerous times throughout their relationship, and she stayed, that’s not my business. Present day, he has two kids with her, and she seems to be happy with him, as happy as you can be when you’re common law married to a cheater.

One of the women that Mr.Blueface has cheated with, is Ms. Chrisean. Chrisean Rock used to be an all-star track girly back in her high school days. Like, I mean, girl used to win her meets all the time. But, you know, sometimes you get mixed in with the wrong crowd and you make some bad choices. So Blueface and Chrisean started messing and whatnot and eventually, she got pregnant. While this was going on, he was still dating both Jaidyn and Chrisean. It wasn’t like they didn’t know, I mean, I don’t know them or why they wanted to keep messing with him but it’s their choice. People would always comment on Chrisean and his relationship saying it was toxic and just really bad to be around and witness. It seems though shortly after Chrisean gave birth, the infamous couple split.

Here is where the real drama starts. Chrisean came out with a song called “Baby Father Drama” which was released on October 7th, 2023. Based on the title, you can tell what the song was about. It was her basically bashing her baby daddy, Blueface. Once the wind was caught by this song, Jaidyn came out with the song “Barbie” which was written and produced by Blueface and came out October 10, 2023. The song was a retaliation to the diss that Chrisean put out. Immediately, the song gained traction, and everyone on TikTok was posting videos to the song. This is where the NY artist, Lil Mabu, comes in. Lil Mabu, Matthew Peter DeLuca, is a college kid who makes drill rap. I don’t listen to a lot of drill, so I’m not about to give my opinion on his music. But, Lil Mabu and Chrisean made a song together called, “MR. TAKE YA B*TCH” and immediately that song blew up as well. This rivalry caused both members of each party to gain thousands of more followers and views. Blueface and Jaidyn are seen in interviews, talking about their relationship. Most hosts try to get some dirt out of them about the whole situation, even though they passively decline, we all know that is the reason they were invited to the shows.

This situation is so dumb, and I think the root of the problem is the man, Blueface, corrupting these women and putting them against each other. He was literally dogging them both like?

GUTS Ranking

September25

Hello all! This is a late post, but better late than never. After some time I have come up with my—personal opinion—ranking of Miss. Olivia Rodrigo’s new album, GUTS.

12. bad idea right? genius link

Please don’t hate me for this. The song, bad idea right?, in itself is not terrible. Personally, I don’t think it’s her best work, when I first gave it a listen I wasn’t really sucked into it, unlike my other experiences with Rodrigo’s other songs. The beginning of the song reminds me of Cake By the Ocean by DNCE, I really don’t know why, but that thought definitely has a factor in my decision-making. One thing about Rodrigo is that her lyrics are so damn catchy, as much as I don’t really favor the beat, her lyrics stay stuck in my head. If I have to recall one specific line from the song it’d be the chorus “..yes I know that he’s my ex, but cant two people reconnect, I only see him as a friend, biggest lie I’ve ever said..” The rhyming scheme is what has me replaying the chorus in my head.

11. love is embarrassing. genius link.

Again, this song is very good and this is my opinion!! Like with all of Ridrigo’s songs I think her lyricism is very relatable because yes, love is very embarrassing. This is one of her more upbeat songs and as a sad music lover, It wouldn’t be right if I placed this higher. Although this song captures teenage love very well, it’s complicated and it sucks.

10. teenage dream. genius link.

Okay, I know I said I am a sad song lover, but this song sends me into a coma of depression. “When am I going to stop being wise beyond my years and start being wise.” Like, does she hate me? I’d listen to this song more because it is so beautiful but it makes me so incredibly sad that my brain and heart cannot take it.

9. pretty isn’t pretty. genius link.

The beat makes me want to scream this song in my car with the windows down, because wow. This song is so real, I feel like every girl has image issues, and it’s refreshing to have a song that normalizes this. I rank it at nine mostly because although her message is so beautiful, I think it is also pretty common to have songs about image issues. This doesn’t change the importance or gravity of the song, but it’s expected; especially because this album, is about being a teenager.

8. ballad of a homeschooled girl. genius link.

I would call this the ballad of a public schooled girl, get it…yeah you get it. I would like to emphasize again that this album is really about being a teenage girl. I don’t know if you guys have seen this meme but, there’s like a trend going around about how when girls mess up, they’re always like “I’m just a girl,” which is so real. Olivia captures that whole “Well I’m just a girl” excuse so well. This song really embodies that too, “…I’m on the outside of the greatest inside joke, And I hate all my clothes, Feels like my skin doesn’t fit right over my bones..” These are really issues that I personally think of all the time. Rodrigo is really the queen of being relatable.

7. logical. genius link.

This is honestly so hard. I love all of these songs and ranking them is not as easy as I thought It’d be. Now that we’re almost halfway through the ranking, all these songs can honestly be tied for #1 but I’m not going to do that to y’all. Logical is really about how easily love can mess up your head, “Two plus two equals five, and I’m the love of your life, Cause, if rain don’t pour then sun, don’t shine..” All of these obviously not true and illogical.

6. all-american bitch. genius link.

Listening to this song I literally feel like I’m in an early 2000s movie like yes, “I know my age and I act like it..” A perfect example of enjoying your youth, it honestly reminds me of Lindsay Lohan in Confession of a Teenage Drama Queen. The transition from a really soft melody to a crashing guitar sound is just so chef’s kiss to my ears.

5. vampire. genius link.

This was Rodrigo’s first single to be released from this album. I won’t lie to you guys, it took me a minute to warm up to it. The more I listened to it though, the more I loved it. The song is really about realization, she finally realized he was sucking her dry, sucking the life out of her. I place this as #5 because, on the scream-cry spectrum, it is definitely up there. The song almost makes me emotionally violent, if that’s even an actual term.

4. get him back! genius link.

I love a good female rage/revenge song. Better than Revenge by Taylor Swift, has the same vibe. The revenge aspect of it is what really ties it up for me. But the lyrics, beat, and the fact it’s a really good song is what has me hooked. Again, I’m not much of an upbeat girl, so the fact this is high on my list says something.

3. lacy. genius link.

Lacy is so delicate and strong at the same time. Is it about envy? or love? Rodrigo has me listening and wanting more.

Ooh, I care, I care, I care
Like perfume that you wear, I linger all the time
Watching, hidden in plain sight
And ooh, I try, I try, I try
But it takes over my life, I see you everywhere
The sweetest torture one could bear

The chorus alone can explain why I ask these questions. This song has me thinking about whether it’s about a crush or the jealousy she has for the other women mentioned. It’s rumored it’s about Rordrigo’s friend and also artist, Gracie Abrams. For me, the song is about comparing, like I will never be lacy.

2. making the bed. genius link.

This song is for all my recovering toxic relationship girlies. This song brings me back to when I was making my own bed, and I had to lie in it. It makes me relive a bad time and makes me glad I overcame it. Rodrigo has been in her fair share of relationships and she encaptures it so well.

And I’m playin’ the victim so well in my head
But it’s me who’s been makin’ the bed”

This section from the chorus sums it up. You can try to blame others for going back time after time but in the end, it was your decision to go back. Although this song is incredibly sad it also implies that there is a light at the end of a very dark and long tunnel.

  1. the grudge. genius link.

My number one. This song is about letting go, not needing closure. Sometimes not every bad situation is gonna give a crystal clear answer as to why it happened. And I’m not defending that, but it’s inevitable. Going through a really sucky relationship and not having a real answer to why,

“And I try to be tough, but I wanna scream
How could anybody do the things you did so easily?
And I say I don’t care, I say that I’m fine
But you know I can’t let it go, I’ve tried, I’ve tried, I’ve tried for so long
It takes strength to forgive, but I don’t feel strong”

It’s a song about confusion. But having to be okay with that confusion, just to be able to let go without knowing. Which takes a certain amount of strength, and it’s okay if not everyone is there yet, she made that clear.

Guts and Joey King

September13

This whole passion blog is honestly an excuse to either trash-talk celebs I don’t like or praise the ones I love. This is honestly y’all’s lucky day cause for some reason I hate Joey King and I absolutely adore Olivia Rodrigo.

Okay, I have nothing seriously against Joey King; there is just something about her that ticks me off. You may be wondering, “If you hate Joey King so much, why the hell are you talking about her?” Well, she got married! Joey King is no longer Joey King but Joey King-Piet! I actually don’t know if she changed her last name or not so I just hyphened it. She got married to Steven Piet, someone who I did not even know existed until I found out about their marriage. Apparently, he is a photographer and honestly a pretty good one. But what do I know? I take all my pictures on Snapchat and edit them on VSCO; but their wedding was straight out of a fairytale. Joey King had this beautiful Oscar De La Renta gown that actually made her look like a princess. It looked as if there were white fish scales that littered the dress completely, in the best way possible; and her hair was blonde and down to her waist with a veil that looked as if it was handmade by little silkworms. She looked beautiful. Her wedding was classic, and they stacked it with celebrities. Is it just me or did you guys know she and Sabrina Carpenter were like best friends? I had no idea. When I saw her very cute and heartfelt post for the lovely couple, I was like, “Wait what?” Anyway, happy for them. Hopefully, I won’t see her in any work soon.

GUTS!! When I listened to this album, I actually think Olivia went inside of my dreams and just wrote about everything I have experienced. It’s either that or, I think we as women have just all gone through the same thing, having a couple of crappy boyfriends who make you rethink your entire life. I would have my personal review of each track on the album, but I think I’ll save that for my net passion blog post; honestly, there is just too much to say. Rodrigo really captures the essence of what it’s like to be a teenage girl; there are songs about heartbreak, not feeling good enough, and it’s just very relatable. Would I say it’s better than her freshman album Sour? I don’t know, it hasn’t been out for that long, but honestly, it has the potential. I’ll make sure to write my ranking in the next post. Passion: Donuts and America

September6

The only good thing happening in media right now is Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenners relationship being confirmed, well not good but it eases my thoughts knowing that my Timothee Chalamet obsessed little sister is upset, which I find funny. So I want to bring up a throwback that still makes me laugh. Ariana Grande and her donut situation.

When the footage of her in the shop came out and it was shown that not only did she lick the donut but she also made the not-so-serious comment about hating America. Let’s be honest if this clip came out like three years ago, there would be people rallying behind her, but you know how it goes, wrong time and wrong place. I mean sure, was licking the donut disgusting? Yes it was, but it’s not like she seriously hurt anyone, and this small incident got way blown out of proportion, her career is still as good as ever.

But to me, the real funny part about this whole thing is the video a little girl made after hearing that Ms. Grande hates America.

“…Say bye to your career.”

That video is like a hidden gem, I forget about it for a while, then a clip pops up on my TikTok and it reminds me of the whole situation.

Passion

August30

I don’t know what I am passionate about. I mean I like numerous things like dancing, music, Taylor Swift. I don’t know what to choose from, If I had to be honest though two ideas are floating up in my head. I’m heavily into pop culture, I love all things pop culture. Celebrities, scandals, new music coming out, a new movie coming out, etc. I mean, if someone were to tell me “Hey what’s her face cheated on what’s his face” I would’ve already found out hours ago due to my secret sources. But, am I really passionate about it? Am I willing to write multiple blog posts about random stranger’s lives? I don’t know. Another possibility could be fashion. The thing is though, I don’t know an actual thing about fashion, but I know how to dress myself and other people and what would look good on other people based on their body type. If someone has a long torso and shorter legs and they want to appear like they have longer legs, I would recommend a high-waisted bootcut pair of jeans. Or if someone wants the opposite, to accentuate their long torso, I’d recommend low-rise wide-legged jeans and a top that hugs the torso tight and ends on the waist. But it’s not like I know every single little thing about fashion, I just like knowing what looks good and what doesn’t.
