Dear Senior Me

Dear Senior Me,

Congratulations on making it through college! We did it! So here’s what I hope we have accomplished since coming to Penn State. I really really hope that we have been a manager with the basketball team for four years, if not hopefully we were a manager for at least part of our time here. I hope that we made it into Schreyer due to being a Paterno Fellow for four years. I hope that we have stuck with our majors and plan on going to grad school to get our PHD in history. I hope that we remember that no matter what other people say, we stuck with the history major because that’s our passion.  I hope that we managed to keep the same friends around and made a ton of new ones. I hope that we had at least two internships and studied abroad in Spain. I also really hope that we were proactive and secured a research position with one of our history professors and learned what it’s like to be a history professor.

So what’s next? I hope that we plan on going to grad school and after that try and get our PHD in history to become a professor. If we put that plan on hold, I hope that we secured a high level job with a basketball organization through our manager duties in college. While that is most definitely the dream job and that would be totally awesome, don’t be bummed if it doesn’t happen. If you don’t get in as a manager, hey that’s okay, I hope we moved on and found something better. Just remember that basketball is something that will always be there for us, even if we don’t end up doing something with basketball for the rest of our life.

So, here’s to us and that we made it through college and are going to become a successful adult. Remember to thank Mom and Dad for everything they have done, we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them. Also just remember to thank our entire family for all the love and support they have given us.

Congrats bud, we did it.

Sincerely,

Freshmen Andrew
