The past six weeks have gone flying by. This past Wednesday marked my final week here at Penn State. The past six weeks have been truly a blast. I have had so many great experiences here at Summer Session and I can not wait until fall starts. With the coming of fall semester I will be taking some awesome classes. My Monday Wednesday Friday schedule are all classes that I will really enjoy. I can finally take all those history classes I’ve always wanted to take. With the coming of fall semester I will also be reunited with some of my other friends coming here.

My summer, in total, has been pretty awesome. The classes I took were interesting and I feel like I’ve learned a ton. I also feel like taking my media course, I’ve become more attuned to what the media does and how they really try to impact our every day lives. I feel like this is a very valuable tool to have because if you know how the media is trying to draw you in, you’re able to see whether or not this is a good thing or not. The whole concept of developing media literacy is an extremely interesting concept to me and I feel like it is an important thing to develop.

In English I feel that my writing skills have developed considerably. I have always felt that I’ve been a strong writer, but with learning new rhetorical devices in english I feel like I’ve greatly increased my writing ability. I also feel like I’ve been able to hone my writing to be more effective, as well as more efficient. I believe that my writing is more substantial now than it was in the past.

In my previous blog post I talked mainly about the social aspects that I’ve developed here during Summer Session and how I want to continue my strong start into fall semester. However, my academic gains this summer, in my opinion, have been impressive. I feel like I have become considerably smarter. This is all I can ask for from my classes, hopefully it’ll continue right on into fall semester.
