If you don’t yet have a Meta Developer Account, follow these steps, otherwise, skip to the next steps:
- Go to developer.oculus.com/sign-up/, then click the Sign Up button.
- Log into the Facebook, Meta, or Oculus account that you use with your headset.
- From there, create an organization. Currently Penn State does not have a standard organization and from a procedural standpoint the organization you create doesn’t matter, so feel free to name your organization whatever you want.
From here, we go back to the headset. Or, if you already had a developer account, you started here. In which case, hi! Here’s what you do:
- Go to the Quest app on your phone. Click Menu, then click Devices.
- Select your Quest 2, then scroll to Headset Settings
- Tap Developer Mode, then use the toggle to turn developer mode on.
-
Finally, connect your Quest to your computer with a USB cable and power it up (if it’s not on already). You’ll need to pop it on for a second to confirm two prompts; one asks if you want to allow USB debugging, and the other asks if you want to allow data transfer. Hit Allow for both.
Your headset is now in Developer Mode!
