Commentary on Art

An introduction to verbal commentary, both oral and written, about art. The development of critical and expressive skills are given emphasis.

The content of this course explores the conceptual diversity of the contemporary art world through diverse means: lectures, readings, diagrams, videos, institutional visits, presentations and discussions. Although not a hybrid course, many of these means are accessed in both real and virtual contexts. Through these means, the student hones his or her ability to think and feel intelligently, critically and profoundly about art.
