Nantucket, Massachusetts

Nantucket will forever be one of my favorite places in the world. I am lucky to have been able to visit many, many times. Most of my family lives in Massachusetts. My parents grew up around Cape Cod and some of my family still lives in Cape Cod so I have been there a lot growing up.Nantucket is a very small, isolated island off the coast of Cape Cod. To get to Nantucket, most people take the ferry which takes about two to three hours (depending on if you take the fast or slow ferry).

The town in Nantucket is gorgeous with bustling, cobblestone streets. The town feels very relaxed and cheerful. There are many clothing shops along the main street and a very special toy shop that my family and friends always visited growing up.

Nantucket is also perfect for day trips. If you are looking for a beach to visit when visiting Nantucket, check out Children’s Beach. Children’s Beach is not very large but it is very family friendly and fun to be at. There is a playground right next to the beach and there is always an ice cream truck at the park. However, watch out, there are always kids catching the biggest crabs I have ever seen at this beach. It is somewhat horrifying but very impressive what the kids catch off the pier. Montserrat, Spain

If you are ever in Barcelona, I highly recommend visiting Montserrat. Montserrat is a multi-peaked mountain range near Barcelona, in Catalonia, Spain. It is about an hour train ride from Barcelona.

I’m not sure how many ways there are to get to the peak, but my friends and I went up by a cable car. The views from the cable car were spectacular.

At the top of the mountain, there is a beautiful benedictine monastery, the Santa Maria de Montserrat. The monastery was founded in the 11th century and rebuilt between the 19th and 20th centuries, and still functions to this day, with over 70 monks.

There are many trails to explore this mountain peak and funiculars to reach different heights to explore. There are many beautiful statues and very old churches along the many trails at Montserrat.

The stairway to heaven sculpture (pictured above) is also very popular at Montserrat. Unfortunately, you cannot climb it anymore, but it is still very beautiful to see.

Montserrat is truly a gorgeous place to visit and it is considered to be one of the most sacred places in the world because of the famous Black Madonna that resides in the Montserrat Monastery. It is very important to be respectful when visiting. I will never forget visiting Montserrat. Thanks again for reading!

Sedona, Arizona

A couple of years ago, my family and I visited Sedona, Arizona. Ever since, it has been one of my favorite places I have ever been able to visit. It is one of the most beautiful and unique places I have ever seen. I can’t wait to visit again, but until then I’ll just write about what I love about it.

The famous Red Rocks of Sedona are one of the most beautiful natural sites in the United States.

When the sun is rising or setting, these formations are illuminated and appear to glow in brilliant orange and red. The red rocks of Sedona are formed by a unique layer of rock known as the Schnebly Hill Formation. “The Schnebly Hill Formation is a thick layer of red to orange-colored sandstone found only in the Sedona vicinity. The sandstone, a member of the Supai Group, was deposited during the Permian Period.”

When my family visited, we took a pink jeep tour of the red rocks. This extreme off-road adventure was lots of fun and we learned a lot about Sedona. I highly recommend these tours. It did terrify my mom though so if anyone is afraid of heights, cliffs, or driving on bumpy trails, I don’t recommend the tours unless you are up for a challenge 😉

The town itself was very calm when I visited. It is a desert town with some very charming shops and restaurants along the main street as well as a small mall uptown.

If you are looking for a calm but at the same time adventurous location, Sedona is the place for you. Whether you want to hike around Red Rock Park or do yoga at sunrise, Sedona is perfect for chill and fun activities. However, the summer in Sedona can be very, very hot. The best time of year to visit, in my opinion, is during the fall. Anyways, thanks again for reading!
