THE LAST BLOG!! Throughout this blog I hope everyone has had a great time reading the different gruesome, horrific, but interesting stories thus far. As a wrap up of the blog I couldn’t think of a better way to conclude it than to write about the WORST serial killers in the United States. SO EXCITING!!!

TED BUNDY

Ted Bundy seems to be a serial killer that a lot of people know about. There is a docuseries on

Netflix called Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes that has become a hit ever since it came out. (I HIGHLY suggest watching it) Anyway, American serial killer and rapist

Ted Bundy was one of the most notorious criminals of the late 20th century, known to have killed at least 36 women in the 1970s. He was executed in the electric chair in 1989. Ted’s

killings ranged from a child to college aged girls. He was also a necrophiliac (EW). Something interesting about Bundy was that he actually was going to law school when he got caught so he represented himself in court. He didn’t want a defense attorney because he felt as though he could win by himself.

DAVID BERKOWITZ 

David Berkowitz, known as Son of Sam, murdered six people in New York City from 1976 to 1977, claiming he received orders from a demon-possessed dog. Yeah I know….. What’s scary about Son of Sam is that he had no remorse. He would often shoot his victims in 2’s. He also repeated the act of shooting people while they were in their parked car. He would leave notes by his victims taunting the NYPD.  When he was being questioned he said that his neighbors dog was sending him messages to kill. A psychological evaluation was done but he was declared “competent” to stand trial. He is now locked up of 6 consecutive 25 years to life terms.

DENNIS RADER

Known as the ‘BTK killer,’ Dennis Rader murdered 10 people in the Wichita, Kansas, area from 1974 to 1991, often leaving clues to taunt authorities. BTK stands for “bind, torture, kill” He

strangled 4 members if a family to death for his first spree. He also said it was a sexual pleasure to kill people. After his last killing in 1991, Rader laid low for awhile. It was not until 2004 when Rader send local media outlets and authorities clues that ultimately led them to Rader. He pleaded guilty to 1o first degree murders and currently serves his 10 life sentene’s in El Dorado Correctional Facility.

CHARLES MANSON

Charles Manson was an American cult leader whose followers carried out several notorious

murders in the late 1960s, resulting in his life imprisonment. He is one of the most notorious criminals in history because of the Manson family cult. He is notorious for the brutal slayings of pregnant actress Sharon Tate. Followers of Man claimed that he was Jesus and his prophecies of a race war. He died in 2017 after spending more than four decades in prison.

EDMUND KEMPER

Serial killer Edmund Kemper killed six young women in the Santa Cruz, California, area and several members of his family. When he was just 15 he killed both his grandparents because he wanted to “see what it felt like.” He captured his victims by picking

them up when they were hitchhiking. During his first murders he cut their hands and heads off and also engaged in sexual activity with their dead bodies. He was known for cutting his victims heads off and dismembering their body parts. In 1973 he killed his mother and her friend before turning himself in. He was charged with 8 counts of first degree and received 8 concurrent life sentences.

There are many other serial killers in the U.S. that committed very bad crimes but I do not have room to talk about all of them!!
