If you follow these instructions carefully, you will almost always receive full credit for your lecture comments!
Your comment should consist of three distinct sections
- Questions about the lecture material (3 points). You need to write 2 or 3 questions that are pertinent to the lecture material that has been covered. Consider what you would like to hear about in our LIVE Lecture the following Monday. It is helpful to number these.
- Comments about the lecture (3 points). Relate your own experiences to the material covered, bring more information on the topic to the discussion that you think would benefit your fellow classmates, or even disagree with particular points.
- 1 or 2 links to related content (3 points). This is an online course, and while all sources cannot be trusted, the internet is a rich source of information. Go find some information that has not already been listed that you think might be helpful to those interested in learning more about the lecture topic for that week.
- Spelling and Grammar (1 point). Obviously, you don’t have to do anything special for this except to have crafted the above sections with care and attention to spelling and grammar. If there are any mistakes, this 1 point will be deducted.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Your Lecture Comment should be formatted so that each requirement above; except 4, is numbered. If your Lecture Comment does not follow this format you will lose 50% or more of your points. Your lecture comments do not need to be extensive. Think clear and concise when writing. Here is an excellent example:
