I’m a bit of a sucker for maps, graphs, and flags. As such, when I found this chart done by the University of North Carolina School of Education, originally published on LearnNC (now defunct, still available on NCpedia), I was quite fascinated to see the various switches, convergences, and divergences of the policial parties of the United States. The additional commentary helps a great deal as well. I’m posting what I believe to be the majority of the graph, as the original timeline is a bit hard to find due to it being posted on Twitter a number of years ago, mucking up the search results.
