For this blog, I have chose to write about “education” but specifically about education for females (both locally and internationally). I will most likely begin by talking about Malala Yousafzai, the recent Nobel Prize Winner, because she is someone I look up to (I actually wrote about her for one of my Schreyer admission essays), and I have seen her father speak here at Penn State. It was a really inspiring night for me (not going to lie, I cried). I am also thinking about discussing the lack of women in STEM fields, what can be done to change that, and all of the opportunities I have encountered at Penn State that encourage women to earn a STEM degree. Although this specific topic might be a bit narrow, I am very passionate about it and think such issues should be brought forward and discussed.
