I MISS YOU STATE COLLEGE

Hey guys! Wow, who thought when we left for spring break we wouldn’t be coming back. Honestly, it makes me and everyone else I know really sad. We all love State College and it’s crazy to think that our freshman year is over. My overall blog for this semester is revolving around health and fitness, so I thought I would use this blog post to share appreciation for all the wonderful things Penn State’s freshman year gave me that helped my mental and physical health. Hope you guys enjoy this post and let’s get ready for sophomore year!

  1. The Intramural Gym

If I’m going to be completely honest I did not ever expect to be making an appreciation post about the IM gym. This quarantine is forcing me to work either in my small gym at home or outside in my yard and all I have to say is I have NEVER missed the intramural gym at PSU so much. While obviously you can use this gym your entire time as a student at PSU, my apartment next year has a gym so I probably will never be returning. Thank you IM for the great runs, cute workers, and cute boys that played soccer while I ran on the treadmill. I will really miss my mid-afternoon workouts at your lovely facility.

  1. East Hall’s Salads 🙁

Okay, this one I’m going to miss a lot. I’m already sick of the food inside my house. I have been eating my mom’s HelloFresh food for weeks now, and while it’s not terrible, I miss my East Dining Hall food! Yes, you may say, this said food may be a big part of the reason I gained the freshman 15. Yes. But. This food made me happy. I loved getting my afternoon and dinner salads with cucumbers, squash, brussel sprouts, and tofu. I really miss it. Obviously, since I am not living on campus next year I will most likely not go back. It breaks my heart.

  1. ROOTS

Okay after talking about the dining hall, this for sure makes it sound really bad. But, Roots! Roots is by far my favorite place to eat in State College and I recently discovered that it only has like 4 places in the whole country. None of these locations are by my house. This also makes me really sad because Roots was my best excuse to spend my mom’s money. Only time I didn’t eat dining hall food. Thank you Roots for keeping me as healthy as I could and thank you for being the perfect place to have sister dates. Also, it’s a little rude of you to BREAK my wallet. Love you though.

  1. MY FRIENDS

Last but definitely not least, I miss all of my friends that I made in State College. My friends helped my mental health so much. They always made me happy and we had so much fun together. It breaks my heart that I won’t see them until August. Thank you to my friends for the best year of my life so far. I love you guys. (Also thanks to anyone reading this post you also made my year great)

HERE’S SOME MEMS:

Okay– that’s enough of my complaining for this blog post. Stay safe and stay inside 🙂

Miss you all

  1. Hey Ariana! Miss you and this post made me miss school even more than I already do. I really enjoyed reading your articulation about how you feel about school, and know a lot of us feel the same way!

  2. Heyyy, miss you Ariana! Omg I miss Roots too. I wish I had one near my house too because I was there like 2 times a week. But I’m sure as we can all agree, I miss my friends the most. I love that I was able to make so many friends that come from so many different places but they all live so far away. 🙁

  3. Hi Ariana! This post made me super sentimental. It’s weird that our freshman year was cut short and that we will most likely never have East Dining again. I also miss Roots so much. It is so much better than any salad place near me. Hopefully this quarantine will end soon and we can all visit our friends!

  4. Wow, I can’t agree with you more that this whole thing has been a crazy turn of events. Sadly, we cannot go to the IM building from home but any advice you can give to stay healthy at home would be cool.
