As someone who has recently bought a Nintendo Switch Lite, I have been very satisfied with my purchase.  There are numerous reasons for this that I will explain later on my blog. However, I have to admit that there are a few crucial issues with this console that makes it disadvantaged when compared to other game consoles and I will be explaining those in this blog.

The compactness and portableness of the device is undoubtedly one of it’s biggest strengths. The device is handheld and light which makes it possible to be played anywhere at any time. You can play it while laying on your couch or on an airplane. The fact that you can bring and play with your console at any location makes it extremely convenient and comfortable. This is a major strength that separates it from other traditional consoles that are large, heavy and require a television or monitor to play.

However, it’s major strength is also it’s biggest weakness as the hardware of the console is too weak.  Because the console is light and small, the strength of the hardware is limited. This is a significant issue as the console is unable to run a lot of games other consoles can run such as Call of Duty.  Even when a game requiring a strong hardware comes to the switch – such as  Mortal Kombat 1 – it’s graphics and animations are significantly downgraded. This is a critical limitation of the console.

Despite the weak hardware, the console features an impressive catalogue of games that are exclusive to the switch.  These games are usually extremely innovative and fun to play that immerses the player. These games also have a fun and unique artstyle that compensates for the weak graphics. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and “Super Mario Oddysey” can serve as examples to these  Legendary and Super games.  

In conclusion, the Nintendo Switch is an excellent console that has very unique features which sets it apart from other consoles. It is a purchase that I don’t regret. However, it has critical limitations such as the weak hardware which prevents it from being a perfect console.
