Passion Pitches

My first idea for my passion blog is write about the 2022-2023 Philadelphia 76ers offseason and the continuous trade failures Daryl Morey brought amongst the team. So far this years off-season has been unfruitful and lacking. While some newer players were acquired, none of them seem to be the right fit to piece together the Sixers. While going through numerous subjectively failed players such as Ben Simmons and Josh Richards. Along with giving up on players that showed promise like Jimmy Butler. Daryl Morey has yet to create a ring winning team let alone one that has surpassed the second round of finals.

My second idea is to write about the long and dangerous path the monarch butterfly has to travel during migration season. Come winter, monarch butterflies pack their thing and start flying to the boarders of Mexico to maintain a warmer climate. Their journey is long and extremely dangerous for these delicate bugs. They face challenges like weather, pollution, and long periods of flight. With climate change increasing this journey becomes more and more difficult to complete. While many monarchs survive the migration much more are killed and this pattern will only worsen if people are not made aware of the affects of climate change.

The Rhetoric Behind WWF

The World Wildlife Fund, WWF, is an environmentalist interest group. They work to conserve wildlife and raise funds for environmental sustainability. WWF’s slogan is “For nature, For people, Forever”. While WWF may be well know amongst politicians, environmental enthusiasts, and wildlife preserver, their slogan “For nature, For people, Forever” simplifies their message to reach a larger audience and exudes what WWF stands for. The slogan shows that the work they do, they do for the sustainability and well being of the nature around us. That they work to allow the people on Earth a clean and safe environment. That, as long as they have the means, WWF will work for these goals forever. The message, while being short and sweet, is powerful towards their audience. “For nature, For people, Forever” shows their ambition to help the environment, which matches their audience’s drive create a sustainable world. Along with the alliterative component, makes the slogan easy to remember and catchy to wide audiences.

There is a commonplace that we as people want the Earth to be around for years to come. Their slogan includes the word “forever” to exemplify just that. WWF makes a promise to live out this commonplace, making them well received by even a general audience, who may not be well versed in sustainability and nature. The commonplace only further improves their message, and may help their company grow. The message ensures that their goals are to help the natural life around us, signifying that they are fighting on behalf of the people to turn their environmental goals into a reality.

Environmental awareness is only becoming more and more popular around the world as climate change and wildlife extinctions continue to worsen. World Wildlife Fund proves to the world that they are fully focused to help preserve wildlife as proven in their slogan, “For nature, For people, Forever”.
