I had not considered how the lack of potable water in third world communities was affecting other areas of life, such as safety. I am a sexual assault crisis worker and advocate with knowledge on rape and mutilation in African countries, yet had never put the two together. That can only go to say that this is an issue that most Americans have certainly never considered. When put into perspective, it makes our first world problems of “dang it honey, you used up all the hot water again” seem trivial. I am interested as to how you and your husband are involved. Are you volunteers with one of the organizations you cited? Are you engineers? Administrators?
