Spain, Education, & a Solution

The Spain Report recently published an article about the current education situation in Spain. The education situation is so massive in Spain that the King of Spain, Felipe VI, was quoted as saying the nation has “an urgent education problem and is failing to prepare young Spaniards for the world”. The news article agrees that Spain does have an education problem citing the statistics of Spanish youth unemployment and the huge numbers of students who leave school at the age of sixteen. An interesting point made in the article was the fact that teachers in Spain got paid more and worked less than other nations around the globe.

The Education Ministry is Spain is now challenged with coming up with a solution to this problem. Find a solution to a countrywide education problem will not be an easy task. It will require tons of research, deliberation, and cooperation from all involved in the education sphere.

What a lot of people do not understand about education reform is that it takes time. There is no magical solution that will get the children in Spain on the desired educational track. There will be a lot of different solutions that will be tested and revised until a competent answer is found. Education is priceless and resources should be in place to ensure that children in Spain receive the best education possible.
