The following are some risks factors that have been associated with breast cancer in the past. A risk does not mean that you will get cancer and having no risks does not mean that you will not get cancer.
- history ( a family or personal history of having breast cancer will increase your risk)
- age ( the older that you are the better the chance of developing breast cancer)
- Genes( specifically BRCA1 and BRCA2 shows an increased risk)
- if you have began your period before age 12
- if you have given birth after age 35
- consuming alcohol
- obesity
- hormone therapy after menopause
Overall, some breast cancer thrives from the female hormone estrogen . Starting an early period, having a late baby, and hormone therapy are all ways the raise these levels in your body .
