Screening for breast cancer is the most important thing a woman can do to help with early detection.

There are a variety of screening tools that can be utilized:
Self Breast Exam
Clinical Breast Exam
Mammography

  1. There was some new information regarding waiting until age 50 for a mammogram if you do not have any risk factors, however, most of the information I reviewed still recommended regular mammogram screenings starting at age 40.

  2. We did find information to support that. If a women has an increased risk such as having the BRCA gene a women should begin screening earlier and start mammograms at age 40 instead of 50

  3. Some of the research that has come out indicate that women with no risk factors should wait until the age of 50 for mammograms. Did you find a lot of information to support this debate?
