At Penn State Beaver…
You can come into the library to browse our DVD collection, but please browse online for graphic novels and request them through the online catalog. Thank you for understanding that DVD cases can be sanitized more easily than books. Visit Ask a Librarian if you need help.
To browse online for graphic novels and DVDs in the Penn State Beaver collection:
When you discover a graphic novel you want, find it in the PSU library catalog and click on the blue “I Want It” button. You’ll get an email when it’s ready to pick up. (See the Tip below for a faster way!)
When you find a DVD you want, come to the library to pick it up. Why the difference? DVDs are funded by the Penn State Beaver Student Activity Fee and not included in the library catalog.
Quick Tip
Install the “Library Extention” browser extension in Chrome or Firefox to see availability and a quick link to our catalog.
After you install “Library Extension” go to LibraryThing:
- click a cover that intrigues you
- click on the title to see a summary, reviews, and more
- watch the availability and “borrow” link to the PSU catalog pop up on the right side of your screen

But wait, there’s more! Many more graphic novels and DVDs are available by request from other PSU campus libraries.
Go to the PSU catalog at https://catalog.libraries.psu.edu
For graphic novels, change the drop-down from keyword to “Subject” and search for “graphic novels”.
For DVDs and other videos, use the Format (Video), Media Type (DVD, etc.) and/or Access (Online or In the Library) to customize a search. Enter a keyword or title… or leave the search box BLANK and see all the titles that meet that criteria.
