cropped-IMG_0520.jpgWelcome to my blog!

I am excited to be in the newest chapter in my academic and professional journey in the American Studies Doctoral Program at PSU Harrisburg. While this blog began as an assignment for my AM ST 500 course, it is also a place for me to reflect on topics of science, religion and popular culture that catch my interest and to keep interesting popular culture sources handy for teaching.

During my time as a teaching assistant and adjunct instructor for the School of Humanities I was privileged to teach AM ST 100Science and Culture, RL ST 001 – Introduction to World Religions and AM ST 140 – Religion in American Life and Thought.

My dissertation research examines the relationship between science and culture during the Progressive era through the lens of public health pioneer Dr. S. Josephine Baker.
