Earth, Wind, Water, and Sky – – Thursday, April 21

 

The Behrend Concert Band will present their annual spring concert on Thursday, April 21 at 8 p.m. in McGarvey Commons. The program will open with David Maslanka’s fanfare, Mother Earth, and will also include selections by Gustav Holst, Frank Ericsson, Percy Grainger, and Jaime Texidor. Dr. Joel Hunt, Lecturer in Music, will be the featured alto saxophone soloist in John Williams’s Catch Me If You Can. A highlight of the program is the world premiere of Presque Isle, a suite for band composed by Beata Moon. The work was commissioned by the Behrend Concert Band through a grant from the Endowment Fund of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Band Poster S16
