Suggested Academic Plans

Suggested Academic Plans are course series that provides only one of the many possible ways to move through your curriculum. The University may make changes in policies, procedures, educational offerings, and requirements at any time.

These SAPs are for students who are declaring a major FA22 or later.  The plan should be used in conjunction with your degree audit (accessible in LionPATH as either an Academic Requirements* or What If report). Please consult with a Penn State academic adviser regularly to develop and refine an appropriate academic plan for you.

* If you are in pre-major, please use the “what if” report to best complete your goal. If you have declared your major, please use the academic requirements report (the official report for graduation verification).

Please consult with a Penn State academic adviser regularly to develop and refine an appropriate academic plan for you. When you meet with your academic adviser, you should discuss the following:

  1. Develop a degree plan – how can you graduate in four years
  2. Deal with any academic issues – seek study tips and tutoring availability before dropping a course.
  3. Dedicate more time to engage on campus – discuss clubs and organizations that interest you
  4. Discuss internship opportunities – learn about the careers available in your field.
  5. Delve into career exploration – once you have your diploma, where do you see yourself.
