Abstract:
This oral presentation investigates various patterns present in residue designs. The presentation first goes over clock arithmetic, a tool used to understand modular arithmetic. The presentation investigates some properties of modular arithmetic, the mathematical basis for residue designs. Residue designs are constructed in the presentation, and various kinds are explored. Finally, the presentation connects the patterns in residue designs to properties in modular arithmetic and proves those relationships.
