Why I THON: I THON so kids can grow up to be our superheroes and save the world!

Bio: I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Business from Penn State Berks in 2015. I have been working at Berks for 2.5 years in Strategic Communications. I became an advisor because I was a part of THON as a student and I saw how the organization had impacted our families and it was the best feeling knowing the money we raised went to our families.

Why I THON: I THON to provide emotional and financial support to children and their families affected by pediatric cancer.

Bio: I work as an Academic Advisor at Penn State Berks, so I get to help students realize their potential and work towards achieving their academic and career goals. I began my participation with THON in a graduate internship experience, and after I obtained a full time position at Berks, decided to continue that participation.

Why I THON: I THON because I believe in what THON can do for both students and the families; they serve to raise awareness and funding to help fight this better we call pediatric cancer. I have seen first-hand what a difference THON makes in the lives of the students and families!

Bio: I am a Penn State graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare and a Master’s degree in Human Resources and Employment Relations. I am the Coordinator of Internships and Job Development at Penn State Berks in the Career Services office since 2004. I work closely with students and employers to bring them together for the purpose of internships, full-time positions, and career opportunities.  I also serve as a Career Counselor for students and alumni of Penn State. I have proudly been serving as an advisor for the Penn State Berks Benefitting THON group, since 2006, working actively with the students to raise funds for the Four Diamonds at Hershey for pediatric cancer research and family support.

Why I THON: I THON for the kids and families affected by cancer. It’s such a hard time for them and I want to help raise money for a cure, bring awareness, and take some of the burdens off of their shoulders to be with their child during that times.

Bio: I work in Marketing at Boscov’s Travel. In my junior year, I was the Communications Executive and one of the THON dancers for Berks Benefitting THON! In my senior year, I was the 1st ever Special Events Executive! I became an advisor because THON is all about helping kids and families during one of the hardest things they will ever go through.  When I graduated I knew that THON was not just an experience during my college and I would then advise.
