Riley Rejniak was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma in April 2017. He was days away from his first T-ball game when he went for blood work for recurrent leg pain. His mom received a call a few hours later saying that something was wrong, and they needed to return to the hospital. They were transferred to Hershey later that evening. Riley was a month away from his fifth birthday when they found out about his cancer. He has been through 6 rounds of chemotherapy, has stayed 164 nights in the hospital, a surgery to remove tumor, a stem cell transplant, radiation and immunotherapy. Riley had many complications but fought through them like any superhero would. As of July 30th, 2018, Riley was declared officially in remission, but almost a year later in July 2019 they went back to the doctors for his yearly scan and they discovered that Riley had relapsed. Riley is currently battling for his second time at Hershey Medical Center and is crushing it! He is 7 years old and currently in 1st grade. Riley loves playing video games, putting on costumes, and watching superheroes. His favorite superhero is Spiderman!
