Chemistry Fun with the Berks Chemical Society

The Penn State Berks Chemical Society will be shooting a pilot episode of Chemistry Fun with the Berks Chemical Society, live on BCTV!

Our special guest is someone you may recognize from Science Days at the Reading Fightin’ Phils Stadium and from his most recent appearance as a speaker for the After School Chemistry Partnership Program for National Battery Day…Robert Coller from Enersys, in Reading, PA!

We had so much fun making lemon batteries and voltaic stacks that we thought we’d do it again, PLUS ULTRA!  😉 BNHA

ABOUT OUR SPECIAL GUEST

Robert Coller is a Senior Laboratory Technician IV for the world’s largest specialty battery company: Enersys.  His job entails the testing/research and development of new and existing battery chemistries.  Robert has worked in the electrical field most of his working career.  He was originally planning a career in English Education, but traded Shakespeare for science.  His interest in electricity has led to some interesting opportunities.  Robert traveled to Pohnpei, Micronesia on three separate occasions to train native Micronesians to complete electrical projects across their island.  He has also been a Lab Manager for the Antietam School District STEM Scouts program and participated in many career day and science events.  Robert enjoys sharing his knowledge of the fascinating, but mostly unknown, history of batteries.
