As faculty plan fall courses, keep in mind that although the Berks Media Commons facilities and equipment will not be available, your students can still complete multimedia projects.
Media Commons Facilities Unavailable for Fall 2020
For fall 2020, our iMac editing stations, the One Button Studio, and the Whisper Room will not be available to students due to safety precautions related to COVID-19. In addition, the library will not be circulating related equipment such as cameras, tripods, and microphones, or portable green screens.
Alternative Solutions Available
Students can complete effective multimedia projects using cloud-based tools, apps, or programs on their own computer or device. Assignments which relied on physical spaces or equipment can be modified to utilize Adobe Creative Cloud software such as Adobe Premiere Rush, Adobe Spark, Adobe Premiere. Students can also use other free programs such as Audacity, Kaltura Capture, or FlipGrid to achieve similar learning objectives. Please contact Mary Ann Mengel if you would like to design an alternative assignment for your class.
Our regional Media Commons consultant Carla Seward continues to be available for virtual classroom visits in support of multimedia projects. View faculty resources from Media Commons ยป
