Digital Content Design is part of the course development process and encompasses a variety of options for authorship of digitally-based instructional resources. Digital course content is often multimedia-based and may be interactive.
The Digital Content Design Badge is one of five first-level badges in the PSU Berks Innovation in Teaching Excellence Program, a faculty development program offered by the Center for Learning & Teaching at Penn State Berks.
To earn this badge, attend at least 3 Digital Content Design sessions from the Innovation in Teaching Excellence Program. A variety of eligible offerings are announced annually by the Center for Learning & Teaching.
Examples of qualifying sessions: Designing Multimedia-based Instructional Content, Getting Started with H5P, Flipping the Classroom, Intro to Kaltura Video Quizzes.
This badge can be earned over the course of multiple academic years. The Center for Learning & Teaching will help track your progress toward this badge. The final step is to write a reflection about Digital Content Design and submit it to the badging platform. You’ll receive instructions when you’ve reached this milestone.
If you earn the Digital Content Design badge in addition to one, two, or three other first-level program badges, you will automatically be awarded the Bronze, Silver, or Gold Star Award respectively–top-level digital badges in the PSU Berks Innovation in Teaching Excellence Program. You will also receive a printed certificate.
