Steps

• To earn a first-level digital badge, attend three sessions which relate to one of our five badge topics. Submit a reflection on the topic to the badging platform.
  • After you’ve attended at least one qualifying session for a single badge topic, that topic’s badge will be made available to you in the Penn State Badging Platform.
  • The Center for Learning & Teaching will track your attendance in qualifying sessions and remind you when you’re eligible to earn a first-level badge.
• Submit your reflection for the appropriate badge to the Penn State Badging Platform.

Reflections

The culminating step to earn a first-level badge is to submit a written reflection about what you’ve learned about that topic. Draw inspiration from each of the topic-specific sessions you attended. Reflect upon the badge topic. What did you learn that you might apply in your teaching? Did you come away with areas for future exploration? Did the sessions encourage you to consider a new approach?

Your reflection will be posted on this site, along with reflections from other badge recipients. After your reflection is approved, your badge will be awarded. You’ll find the badge within the Innovation in Teaching Excellence Group in the PSU badging platform. These options are only available for individuals who have attended qualifying sessions.
