LionPulse is a Penn State PRO Wellness initiative that is funded through Penn State University’s Strategic Plan to create a network of health champions across Penn State campuses and provide assistance to help health champions implement evidence-based wellness policies and practices for student and employee well-being.Penn State Berks is one of 12 participating campuses.
As part of this initiative, our newly formed LionPulse Wellness Committee has prioritized physical activity, and stress reduction and mindfulness initiatives by highlighting accessible walking trails. These walking paths will be accessible to all faculty, staff and students to encourage physical activity as well as their daily “WWAKs” (Walk with a Kinesiologist) on campus. In addition, the campus is hosting a “Berks Walks to the Moon” challenge, where fun prizes will be offered to the student, staff, and faculty teams who log the most steps towards achieving a goal of 477,714,000 steps – the amount of steps it takes to reach the moon!
