Simulink model created in MATLAB to simulate a steady-cam
Original (left) and linearized (right) SimuLink models

The goal of this assignment was to simulate the operation of a camera stabilization system. In the problem, the system is represented by a spring and damper assembly with two degrees of freedom.  An additional element of difficulty was introduced to the problem, as one of the dampers in the system was nonlinear. This was accounted for by using Taylor Series Expansion to linearize the force. A constant sinusoidal input was applied, representing the unsteady movement of the operator holding the camera. Both the linear and nonlinear systems were then recreated using the SimuLink feature in MATLAB, which provided plots and information for each component in the system.
