Big data concepts can be applied to simulation-based physics to further the capabilities of simulation-based physics. This chapter will, first, define physics engine, physics simulation, and simulation-based physics. Some examples of common physics simulations will be provided to make our discussion more concrete. Next, we will discuss traditional approaches to simulating physics including real world simulation and modern computer simulation. Finally, we will discuss how big data analytics can be applied to regular physics simulation to improve their effectiveness. Lastly, the remaining challenges of physics simulation will be presented.
