Studies Show that this Post is Speaking an Opinion

The article related to this post was written by Andy Kessler and it is, Studies are usually bunk, study shows.

The author of this article debunks certain studies, stating that they are not reliable, irreplicable, and are done mostly by graduate students under sub-optimal conditions. He then challenges Malcolm Gladwell and his book, Outlier, where Malcolm stated that to become good at something, 10,000 or more hours is required. This has since been debunked, along with numerous other studies the author presented.

I do agree with the author. I believe that a plethora of studies are in fact false, and this is because the said scientist may want fame via recognition, or the graduate student may want to falsify reports to get more information for their upcoming thesis etc. The other issue with this is that the conclusions these studies reach, are taken at face-value by some readers. This may explain why anti-vaxers believe vaccinations cause autism, although a significant amount of studies since this movement started have shown otherwise.

The quality of information that I present in this upcoming essay will surely impact the decision making process. Analyzing where a study or survey comes from, and who it was by, are all things that will be taken into consideration when gathering information. In addition to that, the information will be cross-checked with similar surveys to validate the information provided.

Overall, the threat of spreading misinformation for personal gain has never been higher, and checking sources against each other will help prove their validity and prompt their usage in an essay.
