Our lab participates in K-12 outreach activities for local school students and teachers. The goal is to educate students of our lab’s mission on developing next generation medical imaging devices using optical, ultrasound and radio wave technologies and be a part of STEM work force.

Demonstrating photoacoustic effect through music to Bellwood Antis Middle School students. Music modulated light causes small thermal fluctuations in the diaphragm of a stethoscope leading to pressure waves that can be heard through the stethoscope earpieces.
