This Mellon Foundation-funded Sawyer Seminar series at the Pennsylvania State University brings sex, gender, and reproduction in fascist, far-right, and other ethnonationalist ideological formations into sharper focus through the comparative study of numerous contexts across time and space.
The series will contrast historical and contemporary cases of ethnonationalist formations, as well as exploring the themes that cut across them.
Over a two-year period from Spring 2024 to Fall 2025, we will host a variety of events on-site at University Park, online, and in hybrid format to include as many participants from around the world as possible. Our packed program of events includes:
- Public lectures
- Hybrid research seminars
- The “Digital Sawyer” seminar series
- Colloquia and special events on urgent topics
- An academic conference slated for Fall 2025
