I love to travel. I love it! I love everything about it: the people, the culture, the new experiences, the differences. It only makes sense that my passion blog would be about traveling. I have two possible themes I would follow: just the United States or global.
If I wrote about places in the United States only, I would follow a map I made with my friend detailing the multitude of locations we would visit on a road trip all the way to California and back. While it does stop in some popular areas, it would include sites that are not so known in those cities.
If I were to use a global perspective, I would come up with some of the places I have always wanted to visit. These are not always going to include popular tourist areas, such as Paris, but rather places I have done research on. I would pick some of my favorite locations (either cities or countries) and describe the parts that I want/plan to visit. It could be anywhere from the Sydney Opera House in Australia to a vineyard my family had previously owned in Italy.
Cool idea, Bethany. I think that either idea would be interesting to pursue, but the one that is globally based may give you more freedom in your writing. However, I think the one in the United States would have better structure and a clearer central theme so it should be a tough choice!!
I’m always fascinated to learn about new destinations, their cultures, and unique qualities that they offer tourists. As a Global Studies (and Political Science) major, I will say that there are some fascinating locations on the globe that are extremely gorgeous and awe-striking, but not mentioned as much as they should be; Langkawi, Malaysia and its beaches pop into mind. So my suggestion would have to be to research multiple different destinations and go beyond where you envisioned yourself being one day. There are so many cool areas that you might not even know about yet, but you would passionately be interested in traveling to.
