Australia. The land down under. The Outback. A country that I could spend years living in and traveling. There are so many destinations to explore in Australia from the cities, to the beaches, to the forests, there is so much to do. For my post though, I will stick to my “must visit” places. So here are my top 5 destinations to visit in Australia…
- 12 Apostles, Great Ocean Road, Victoria
This natural and beautiful sight comes from stacks of limestone rock, close in proximity, which creates this “picture worthy” destination. There is not much to do in this place, but it is view is worth the trip! It is a popular tourist spot, so it could be crowded at times.
2. Hillier Lake, Middle Island, Western Australia
This lake, naturally pink and high in salt level, is just amazing. How often do you get to say, “I swam in a pink lake.” However, this spot is not easily accessible; people normally will get here by helicopter or, sometimes, a cruise ship.
3. Sydney, South Wales
Not only is this one of the most popular cities in Australia, but a very beautiful one too. There are many things to do in the city, but the first I would do is more of a childhood fulfillment. I would visit the Dentist Office at P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney (from the movie Finding Nemo). I would also visit the famous Sydney Opera House. While there are hundreds of activities to do here, it all depends on personal interests.
4. Kakadu National Park, Northern Australia
This national park (area of over 7,500 miles) has many spots to visit including Twin Falls, Jim Jim Falls, Waterfall Creek Falls, and Ubirr. Perfect for hiking, camping, artists, and various other activities, Kakadu is for anyone looking for an adventure with beautiful scenery.
5. Whitsunday Islands
These 74 Whitsunday Islands are perfect for beach people! Here you can scuba dive, visit the Great Barrier Reef, relax in the sun on white sand beaches, and many other activities. There is also hiking trails on some of the islands, but most are uninhabited by humans. However, there are some resorts that bring people to this paradise (for a large price of course).
There are so many other wonderful places that Australia has to offer, but it all depends on the people going. These 5 places are “must visit” destinations for me, but my list is so much longer. Do your own research to find places in Australia that you would love to visit so you can have a great trip (if you decide to go). Good’ay mate.
I love the pictures! They really make it an interesting blog to look at. I think that reading more about why you want to visit these places, especially with a more personal touch, could add some really cool depth to your blog.
