In this post, I again decided to stray away from the beaches and head back to nature. Colorado is one state I have to visit at some point! One of my uncles lives there and I always see the beautiful pictures my cousin takes on hikes. The natural landscapes here are almost unreal!
To start, there is Garden of the gods. This public park is filled with natural standing and massive sandstone structures! Some are named, while others are not, but it is worth visiting for some cool pictures.
Another destination in Colorado is Pikes Peak. Located 12 miles from downtown Colorado Springs, this fourteener (a mountain that is 14,000 feet or greater) is a must-climb. Out of 53 fourteeners, Pikes Peak is in the perfect location to climb and then head back into town to rest and relax.
For people who love the winter, skiing or snowboarding, or ice skating, Colorado has just what you need! Along with hundreds of places to ski or snowboard, there is Winter Park Resort. Home to multiple winter activities, Winter Park also has music festivals from time to time. It is also kid friendly with tubing, sleigh rides, and other activities. There is also an opening day ceremony and, later on, a tree lighting ceremony to celebrate Christmas.
Want more nature, visit any where in Rocky Mountain National Park and you can get all the beauty you want. From serious hiking to just walking along some trails, this park encompasses forests, lake, and mountains.
However, if you want to take a step back from nature, Denver is the place to be. Home to previous Super Bowl champs, the Broncos are based in the Mile High City. Here you can find what you find in many cities: museums, zoos, aquariums, amusement parks.
Colorado has it all: the magnificent view and hiking, to relaxing in the city.
