I know, its a weird name right. Actually, its the name of a high part of Blue Mountain. Its a lot nicer than it sounds and is worth the very steep and rocky trail to the top.
The Knob, as it is nicknamed, is about a 40 minute drive of where I live into Germansville. From there, a very steep, curvy, and rocky road will take you to a parking area near the top of the mountain point. Then, it is about a 15-25 minute climb over large rocks to reach the breathtaking view that waits at the top. Personally, I think the best time to go is to see the sunrise, otherwise it can become crowded. At the top, you overlook other mountains, trees, and farmland as far as you can see. The view is well deserved after the tiring hike, so sitting and relaxing is a nice reward.
All in all, this trip will take about two hours, and a lot of energy. Getting food after is highly recommend, especially if you see the sunrise and haven’t had anything to eat. I’m very biased, but I suggest Blue Moo. It’s on the way back to my house and where I have worked for two years. It is a great family-run local business with everything from soups, cheesesteaks, wraps, and their delicious house-made perogies. Afterward, there is a few dozen ice cream flavors to try from Longacre creamery an hour away.
This is a very enjoyable trip if you’re looking for something to do outdoors and physically active. I have done it multiple times, and have always had fun with it!
The first picture you posted reminds me of a place near my home called Hawk Mountain. I love watching the sunset on the rocks. And just like you mentioned, getting breakfast afterwards is not a bad idea. I love the outdoors focus of your blog and will continue to read more posts! Great work!
