Welcome!

Blue Band in Team Aisle with Penn State Flags in the air and fireworks in Beaver Stadium

Welcome!

Thank you for a great summer! Information about the 2025 Blue Band High School Summer Clinic will be available in spring 2025 – please check back!

The Blue Band High School Summer Clinic is an opportunity for current high school marching band instrumentalists and band front members to learn the marching and music traditions of the Penn State Marching Blue Band in a student-centered, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment and get a taste of what is like to be a student at Penn State! Clinic participants will have the opportunity to work directly with the Penn State Blue Band Directors, Staff, and Students to improve their musicianship and marching fundamentals in both traditional Big Ten “Blue Band” High Step and corps style.

ELIGIBILITY:  High school students who are entering grades 10-12 in the Fall of 2025 and are at least 15 years old are eligible to attend. Additionally, recent high school graduates who are intending to attend Penn State, University Park as a 1st-year student in the Fall of 2025 are also eligible to attend. Students must have at least one year of high school band experience as either an instrumentalist on a woodwind, brass, or marching percussion instrument (snare drum, bass drum, tenor/quad drums, cymbals), or as a band front/color guard member (majorette/twirler or silk/flag) to participate.

Penn State is committed to equal access to programs, facilities, admission, and employment for all persons. It is the policy of the University to maintain an environment free of harassment and free of discrimination against any person because of their actual or perceived age, race, color, ancestry, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, physical or mental disability, religion, creed, service in the uniformed services (as defined in state and federal law), veteran status, marital or family status, pregnancy, pregnancy related conditions, genetic information or political ideas. Discriminatory conduct and harassment violate the dignity of individuals, impedes the realization of the University’s educational mission, and will not be tolerated. This access is extended to all university sponsored youth programs, including 4-H.

The needs of any participant in a youth program will be discussed privately with that child’s parent/legal guardian on a case by case basis with the goal of promoting a safe environment and quality experience. If you have any questions, please contact the program manager Corinna Fisher at fisher@psu.edu.
