What to Bring or Pack
List for both Residential and Commuter Participants
- your own marching instrument/equipment (including drums) and applicable accessories
- percussionists must provide sticks/mallets and harnesses if applicable in addition to their own instruments
- your own music lyre (we will provide access to our electronic music app, BEAM, and a cell phone holder at registration for instrumentalists)
- cell phone (we use this for our electronic music distribution)
- sunscreen (very important)
- hat
- comfortable sneakers for marching (students MUST wear sneakers for all instructional sessions)
- clothing that is comfortable and allows the student to move freely and safely during physical marching activities
- refillable water bottle
- cash or debit card for vending machines or souvenirs (optional)
Packing List for Residential Participants
Each room has a small refrigerator and microwave.
- pillow and pillowcase
- blankets or sleeping bag (twin bed size) (flat sheet provided)
- soap, toiletries, washcloth and towel, shower shoes
- headphones for music
- alarm clock
- summer/athletic clothing and light jacket (hot weather and possibly cool evenings)
- rain gear
- clothes hangers
- prescription and over-the-counter medications (in original container)
- mask (optional)
Note: While the current guidelines do not require participants to wear masks in the spaces that will be utilized for this program, we are fully supportive of mask-wearing for those who choose to do so. - 1 COVID test (optional, recommended)
Do NOT bring:
- a personal laptop
- valuables — Penn State is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items
