BTS is a South Korean Group but in recent years they have grown popularity. My own sister was a fan of them, I was confused as to why they were so popular because they are so foreign and no where nearly relate to American culture. I learned that the online fan culture around them makes the language barrier almost invisible, making it accessible to anyone who speaks any language. In past years this was usually never the case, either you learn the language or you just stay in your own culture. Many famous American artists featured in their songs also such as Desiigner, Nicki Minaj, and Steve Aioki. With this mix of digital technology and foreign artists, it is inevitable that the boy band, artist industry will take a turn to become more accepting of the differences and contributing different types of music and ideas to the melting pot.
