Studies in Folklore and Ethnology is published by Lexington Books, an imprint of Rowman and Littlefield. Books in this series highlight cultural traditions around the world and the persons and communities that enact them. Including monographs and edited collections, the series emphasizes studies of living folk practices, artists, settings, and groups toward a broad understanding of the dynamics of tradition and identity in the modern world. Oxford Handbook of American Folklore and Folklife Studies is available online (usually through institutional access) and has been  published in print as a single large volume (43 chapters, over 1000 pages) .

The Jewish Cultural Studies Series published by Liverpool University Press features 6 volumes of essays on themes such as “Jews at Home” and “Re-visioning Ritual.” For more information, click here. 

Jewish Folklore and Ethnology is an annual journal published by Wayne State University Press that accepts submissions on various aspects of Jewish traditions around the world. I am the editor with Drs. Amy Milligan (Old Dominion University, USA) and Tsafi Sebba-Elran (Haifa University, Israel) as associate editors. For more information see the JFE portal.

Pennsylvania Germans: An Interpretive Encyclopedia. Following my serving as editor of the Pennsylvania German History and Culture Series for Penn State Press and the Pennsylvania German Society (2000-2009), I co-edited with Joshua R. Brown an encyclopedic guide to Pennsylvania German Studies for Johns Hopkins University Press that was published in 2017.

Youth Cultures in America in two volumes was published by Greenwood/ABC-CLIO in 2016. I co-edited it with Dr. Cindy Dell Clark of Rutgers University. For more information, click here.

I edited the Encyclopedia of American Studies Online for Johns Hopkins University Press and the American Studies Association from 2011 to 2016, when the ASA stopped its operation. The encyclopedia is in final form and not accepting new entries. You can browse the contents here.
