This trip was hosted for the benefit of Penn State MIS and Cybersecurity students with the goal to network with Pittsburgh employers who have hired our grads in the past and are interested in networking with students for possible internships or jobs.

Sheetz
Sheetz is a family-owned convenience store chain with a tech and innovation office in Bakery Square in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During the visit, students gained an inside view into how Sheetz operates, with a focus on their innovative approach to the convenience store experience. They met key Sheetz team members and senior leaders who provided valuable insights into career opportunities and Sheetz’s dynamic work environment.
PNC
Students were provided with an overview of daily operations at PNC Bank, with a particular focus on the Reporting & Analytics function. Additionally, they explored what to expect from working with Project data in the financial industry.
Dinner at Tepache with a few alumni. Sean Dyon is the Director of Strategic Alliances at HID Global, and he has a lot of experience working in cybersecurity. Matt Didiano leads a cybersecurity team at Highmark in Pittsburgh. Megan Jones-Steinbugl works in IT & Strategy at Sheetz.

Students learned about the dynamic environment of a global organization and their IT team. They learned about industry trends and real-world strategic projects that align with those. Interactive sessions with employees provided insight into post-graduation career paths, highlighting skills and challenges that come with the industry while navigating a hybrid, worldwide working environment.
