CONNECT, the Black School of Business Mentoring Program, is a component of MGMT301, during which students have the opportunity to join the program and work with a mentor to work on their professional development.

Make a Difference in a Student’s Career Path
CONNECT, the Black School of Business Mentoring Program, is a component of MGMT301, during which students have the opportunity to join the program and work with a mentor to work on their professional development.
Program Details
- The focus of the experience is Career Readiness.
- Students are encouraged to be proactive and act professionally.
- Students are expected to connect with their mentor at least 5 times during the semester. As a mentor, you may adjust the frequency of the communications (more frequent bref communications, or fewer and longer) as you see fit or the type of communication (in-person, zoom calls, phone calls, texts, emails…)
Expectations
- Students will write reflections on their experiences.
- Mentors will complete a survey on their experience and their mentee’s progress.
Resources
- Connect Mentoring Program website: https://sites.psu.edu/bsobconnect/
- Both Mentors and mentees can use the website to decide on a plan of action at the beginning of their relationship and/or to work on specific skills.
Support
- We will check in with both mentors and mentees at least 3 times.
- If any problems/concerns arise, we will be there to help.
